Fast, Safe EV Charger Installation for Your Home

EV Charger Installation

Fast, Safe Home Charging for Your Electric Vehicle
Driving an electric vehicle (EV) is great, but waiting 12+ hours for it to charge on a standard outlet isn’t. To get the most out of your EV, you need a dedicated Level 2 home charging station.
Veteran Electric is Kansas City’s expert in EV charger installation. We install dedicated circuits and charging stations for all makes and models, including Tesla, Ford, Chevy, Rivian, and more. We make switching to electric convenient and safe.

Level 1 vs. Level 2 Charging

Level 1 (Standard Outlet): Uses a standard 120-volt household outlet. It’s extremely slow, adding only 3-5 miles of range per hour. It can take days to fully charge a large battery.
Level 2 (Dedicated Circuit): Uses a 240-volt circuit (like a dryer or stove). It charges 5-7 times faster, adding 20-60 miles of range per hour. This allows you to plug in when you get home and wake up to a full battery every morning.

Our Installation Services

We don’t just run a wire; we design a charging solution that fits your home and lifestyle:
  • Hardwired Chargers: We install wall-mounted units (like the Tesla Wall Connector) directly for maximum charging speed and reliability.
  • NEMA 14-50 Outlets: We install heavy-duty 240V outlets for plug-in mobile chargers.
  • Panel Upgrades & Load Management: If your home doesn’t have enough spare electrical capacity, we can upgrade your panel or install smart load management systems that allow you to charge without overloading your service.
  • Outdoor Installations: No garage? No problem. We install weather-rated outdoor chargers.

Why Hire a Pro?

EV charging puts a continuous high load on your electrical system. Improper wiring or using cheap outlets can lead to overheating and melting. We use industrial-grade materials and follow strict code requirements to ensure your car charges safely every night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just plug my car into a regular outlet?
Yes, but it’s very slow. A standard 120V outlet (Level 1) adds only 3-5 miles of range per hour. A Level 2 charger (240V) adds 25-40 miles of range per hour, fully charging most cars overnight.
Maybe. EV chargers draw a lot of power (30-60 amps). If your panel is full or only has 100-amp service, you might need a panel upgrade or a “load management” device to charge safely.
We install all brands, including Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, and more. We can recommend a reliable unit based on your vehicle and budget.
Cost varies based on the distance from your electrical panel to the garage. A simple installation right next to the panel is less expensive than running conduit across a finished basement. We provide free estimates.
